OPEN-AIR PAINTING
Fresco created in collaboration with the artist associated with 123 mon école, Mélissa Boucher.
The fresco was a long term work with the children around an imaginary bestiary. We based ourselves on Michel Pastoureau's medieval bestiary, chimeras and Mexican alebrijes so that the children could create their own hybrid and fantastic creatures. They had the opportunity to mix various techniques in painting, collage, decomposition and recomposition of forms, for the elaboration of their works. In a second phase, the school made a selection of their proposals. Keeping the drawings and without modifying their works, we proceeded to the composition of the fresco, to which we added some medieval tapestry stencil motifs. After a virtual simulation, we reproduced it on the wall of the courtyard and the children painted the traced shapes!
